Re: Obituary

The President and Directors of the Sierra Leone Bar Association regret to announce the death of our revered senior colleague Berthan Macaulay Jnr., Esq. This sad event took place today, 24th February 2026.

Mr. Macaulay was a doyen in the legal profession, and his contributions to the profession have left an indelible footprint in the jurisprudence of Sierra Leone.

Until his death, he was the managing partner of Basma & Macaulay.

Details of his funeral arrangements will be communicated with members in due course.
