Shockwaves from the Diaspora: Sierra Leoneans Face Grave Criminal Charges in the United States

Once part of President Bio’s inner circle, Ibrahim George Kallon’s ICE arrest ignites outrage — while fellow Sierra Leonean Abdul Jalloh stands accused in a fatal Virginia stabbing that’s jolted both nations.

According to ICE, Kallon had reportedly been undergoing correctional officer training in Delaware County at the time the charges were filed. Sources indicate he had traveled to the U.S. as part of a presidential delegation attending a United Nations summit but allegedly declined to return to Sierra Leone thereafter.

In a separate case, 32-year-old Abdul Jalloh has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of 41-year-old Stephanie Minter in Fairfax County, in the state of Virginia.
